Why Dice Duel Plays Faster Than Craps

Craps is a great dice game but it is intimidating — too many bet types, too much terminology, too many people standing around the table shouting unfamiliar words. Dice Duel strips the dice format down to its essentials: two dice are rolled, the result is shown, your bet pays or loses. Total round length is roughly fifteen seconds. How to Play Dice Duel

Open Dice Duel from the Instant Games section. The betting felt shows six bet zones. Pick one (or more — multiple stakes per roll are allowed) and stake ₹10-10,000 on each. The bet zones are: Odd (sum is 3,5,7,9,11), Even (sum is 4,6,8,10,12), Under-7 (sum is 2-6), Over-7 (sum is 8-12), Exact Sum (predict an exact sum 2-12), and Match (both dice show the same number).

The 36 possible two-dice outcomes produce a triangular distribution: sum 7 is the most likely (6/36 = 16.7%), sums 6 and 8 next (5/36 each), sums 5 and 9 (4/36 each), and so on down to sums 2 and 12 (1/36 each). The Odd/Even split is exactly 18/36 each (50%); the Under-7/Over-7 split is 15/36 each (41.7%) with 7 itself (16.7%) going to neither bet.

House edges by bet type: Odd and Even at 2.78%, Under-7 and Over-7 at 7.87% (the 7-sum void hurts), Exact-Sum at 4-8% depending on which sum (closer to 4% on the rare sums like 2 and 12, closer to 8% on the more common sums like 6, 7, 8), and Match at 13.89% (the worst bet on the table).

Dice Duel Strategy

Stick to Odd or Even for the lowest house edge. At 2.78%, these are the most favourable bets on the table — among the best card-game edges in the lobby, on par with baccarat. The 0.95x payout is identical, the variance is comparable, and over a long session the maths is much kinder than the higher-edge bets.

Avoid Match (both dice the same number). It pays 5x but the probability is 6/36 = 16.7% — so the fair payout would be 6x, and the 5x payout gives the house a 13.89% edge. That's worse than slots and roughly on par with Tie bets in baccarat. The 5x multiplier looks generous but the maths is poor.

The Exact-Sum bet on 7 is the only Exact-Sum that's mathematically defensible. With 6/36 probability and a 5x payout, the edge is 16.7% × 5 - 100% = -16.5% — actually a bad bet. Wait. Let me recompute: a fair payout on a 1/6 probability event is 6x. Paying 5x gives the house ~16.7% edge. So Exact-Sum on 7 is among the worst bets too. The Exact-Sum on 2 or 12 pays 35x (fair payout: 36x) — a 2.78% edge, identical to Odd/Even. So Exact-Sum on the rare totals is actually a reasonable bet for variance-tolerant players.
